Why join Song Central?

Welcome all SPAA Fringe producers!

You can submit a brief outlining the style of song (or music) you seek for your next project. We will publish this brief to all our songwriter and music composer members. They will be able to submit material to YOUR brief via this website (so you don't have to deal with any songwriters or composers until you listen to something you like..)

It takes the hassle out of finding new composers, gives you access to new original songs and lets you sample all submissions for free and, in your own time via this site. Just contact sue@songcentral.com.au if you have any questions or if you wish to submit a brief!

Song Central takes the ''ad hoc'' out of being heard (for songwriters) and the inconvenience and hassle away for industry users interested in sourcing new material from a new source of material submitted by both 'known' and 'unknown' songwriters/composers & lyricists.

You never know what gem will be unturned when you WIDEN the talent pool for creativity...

Song Central can help you find the right original song or piece of music (or lyrics) for your commercial purpose. This could be for an artist, band, film, TV, radio school production, theatre, games music, jingle or perhaps a sound-bed for an ad or announcement.

Song Central is a new source of creativity and talent and thus, a new tool for publishers & producers involved in all areas of music.

• Search for songs/music by genre, sub-genre, songwriter, subject or theme, male or female vocalist, length of song, time signature etc.
• Tailor the way you search, sample and shortlist all songs and music to suit your specific needs
• Sample songs and music (play 10 seconds or the whole song)
• Refine save and name multiple song shortlists for each of your projects
• Contact the songwriter/composer direct when you find material you are interested in
• Receive criteria alerts every time new material matching your interest is submitted to our site (be first to sample!)
• Conduct quick or advanced searches through sections of, or the whole of our showcase database
• Personalise the way you use all these features via your own Home Page.

All songs and music are 'streamed-on-demand' so you don't need to download MP3 files or manage CDs whilst searching & sampling. If you find material you are interested in and require the MP3 - we can forward it to you.

Our service is obligation free and (currently) FREE for bona-fide industry users.

Showcase Database

Songs and music that are available for searching are stored in MP3 format in our showcase database. Material that has been written by a professional or that has received professional recognition is distinguished by a "P" graphic.

Note: you can elect to search on only "P" songs and music in your search criteria.

Professionally recognised material

Distinguished by "P" graphic, this material has been written by a professional songwriter or has been professionally recognised or is 'qualified' as it has:

• achieved success in a known songwriting competition
• been jointly composed with a professional songwriter/composer
• been deemed to have commercial potential by a professional reviewer

Song Central encourages all songwriters/composers to authenticate themselves to give assurance they are who they say they are. Authenticated authors are visible by an symbol in their Songwriter Profile.
